Air Relax Recovery System

The Air Relax System

Compression devices first got their start in the medical field, where they were exclusively used for patients with serious muscular and circulatory disorders such as lymphedema and vein disease, which can cause edema and deep vein thrombosis. Previously, these devices were expensive and cumbersome and were typically limited to hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. Today, compression systems are small/portable, reasonably priced, and are being used by sports teams, universities, physical therapists, and professional athletes to improve recovery time and enhance their training.

Exercise can cause fluid retention and blood pooling in the lower legs/extremities. Compression systems add external pressure which helps squeeze blood out the muscles and back to the lungs and heart, allowing fresh, oxygenated blood to replace it. Benefits of compression therapy include improved blood circulation, lower potential for swollen legs/feet, removal of lactic acid and reduced muscle fatigue, improved flexibility, recovery stimulation, and increased oxygen distribution.

This is backed by research studies, which can be found here and here.

Nutrition is often called the 4th discipline in triathlon, but recovery is just as critical. I have used compression boots for general recovery for years. They are easy to use and provide a massage-like experience that leave my legs feeling fresher after a long training day and ready to take on the following day’s session(s).

I often get asked if a compression system is worth the expense. Much of the equipment and associated expense in triathlon and cycling (and many other sports), such as bikes/gear, clothing, entry fees, travel, coaching, etc. are expensive. Given the financial investment as well as the time dedicated to training, Air Relax compression boots are a relatively minor expense (half the cost of some race entry fees) and provide an ongoing benefit of fresher legs, which can’t be underestimated.

There are numerous compression systems on the market, but in my experience, no other system can match the value of the Air Relax system. These boots provide all of the performance benefits of the other higher-cost systems at a fraction of the price.

The bottom line is that in order to absorb all of the hard training sessions and improve performance, rest and recovery from exercise is critical to heal and repair the damage hard training sessions can cause to muscle tissue. Recovery also enables your body to efficiently clear out metabolic waste. Compression systems help maximize this recovery effect while limiting injuries and helping to keep the body healthy, allowing more training time and better overall performance.

If you want to minimize recovery time and maximize the overall recovery effect for better performance, give Air Relax compression boots a try.

Remember to consult your Medical Practitioner before using this, or any other compression recovery system.
